Too Bad I'm a Loser....

There is a rumour going around that I have lost my mind. Or, maybe it is just me who is saying that. Either way, my sanity has been questioned a few times since coming home for the summer (or at least more than usual!) This might just be the icing on the cake, and I blame it on the abundance of work during a ‘long weekend’.

How much work is too much work? It isn’t too much if the money is there, is it? That’s one opinion. But money might not be as important as health. This morning, after waking up at quarter to five, I manage to faint and fall in the shower. Luckily I turned off the water right before I went out completely, and I wasn’t in the tub. Instead, I hit my head against the plastic-like shower walls, which give a little. Otherwise, it could have been bad news, especially since I was home alone. I’m feeling slightly better, but the light-headedness is still present, along with the headache from hitting my head when I fell.

Unfortunately, I made this movie before I hit my head. There is no excuse for my behaviour!

(My plan for the weekend, before I was offered to work overtime for double pay, was to go down to Halifax so I could see MJ and Dub who travelled from Alberta, along with Carolyn who is leaving soon. I was really looking forward to going, but fortunately or unfortunately, I’ve been working long hours for good money and poor health instead.)

May 5-7, Our First Visit since the beginning of Summer Vacation

Long distance relationships are hard to do, and it certainly is nice to finally be back in the arms of someone you care about!

On Friday, after spending all day working at the Nuclear Power plant, and getting stuck in traffic on the way home due to an accident, I got into the Jeep with Mom and Dad and headed down to Moncton (late of course!)

Being Late seemed to become a theme...

Luckily, the bus driver was some distant relative of Speedy Gonzalez, and we actually did manage to pull into the bus station in Halifax just in time. Of course, this meant almost driving away leaving a few passengers behind at a couple of stops, including an old lady who desperately needed to pee. Apparently, there was no peeing allowed.

On Saturday morning, after a trip to the market with Carolyn and Teri which included eating crepes and buying delicious Maple Apple Jam, Dan and I headed back with the hopes to go Geocaching with Olivier and Alyssa. Now, if you haven't heard of Geocaching yet, what the heck have you been doing?! Carolyn and I decided that it was some ploy by Mothers Against Videogames (or possibly by Girlfriends Against Video Games) to get otherwise geeky couch potatoes out for some exercise. Unfortunately, Geocaching is not Geeky enough and WAY too much fun!

Due to the unfortunate weather, Olivier and Alyssa decided against taking part in this giant, worldwide, scavenger hunt... but that didn't stop Dan and I from trying our luck!

That night for supper, we had a potluck with Carolyn. She brought the chips and dip, and made some yummy pomegranate cocktail. Dan wowed us with his cooking expertise and fed us chicken and tofu curry on a bed of rice. My job was to bring the dessert. S'Mores it was (because you can never go wrong with S'Mores!) Although they were a hit, no one ever looks good when you take a picture of them eating S'Mores...

After stuffing our faces, we headed over to Igor's for a chance to celebrate one very special guy's birthday (Way to miss your own party, Matty!!)

To finish off the almost perfect weekend, the sun came out, the temperature soared, and Carolyn, Dan, and I headed to Point Pleasant Park to try our luck at Geocaching once more! We had a blast and a half! I have the sunburn to prove it!
